It has definitely been a long minute since my last post. Much has happened…so I will make this brief. My condo in the city finally sold and I am moving my family into a home in the suburbs. Yes…the suburbs! I am really looking forward to this shift and change of pace actually. I mean the city is nice, but I am so over it. I’ve lived in urban settings since birth (that’s 50 years)…and yes, had all of the amenities that comes with city spaces including lake front living with amazing city views, desk attendant, valet parking, health club, sundeck, hospitality room, mini-market and dry cleaners. The latter at least a couple of decades ago until the condo association decided on reconfiguring those spaces. In addition, there were great places to walk to, cultural hubs, events, shops and museums, right in my neighborhood. Oh, let’s not forget great access to parks, bike paths, Metra and beaches.

All this was fine over the last SEVERAL decades of my life, however, living during a pandemic in 2020, in small spaces, remote work and school arrangements and limited access to the outdoors, really took a toll on me (and my family). The need for a HUGE change was inevitable. We needed an extra bedroom, space for an office, family space, yard space and just…space. I grew weary of living with someone to the left, right, on top and below me, as was the situation in condo/apartment living. I grew weary of the valet parking, and having to dress and undress my car with protectors to avoid dings and dents due to the driver’s parking skills; and I really grew weary of all of the shared spaces and communal laundry facilities…ugh! Will I miss some folks? Sure. The residents and staff were great! But now…I’m looking forward to my quiet oasis, land, and space…SPACE!

I am looking forward to my small ranch on a corner lot sitting on a .25 acre of land. We will finally have the extra room and family space. Oh and a shed that will be mine…I mean ours ๐Ÿ˜‰ We will so totally enjoy our two-tiered deck in the large yard. We will so enjoy this space on a quiet block with an eclectic collection of homes and people. As for additional bonuses, we are minutes from the highway and minutes from the train station. Very important features as I navigate the commute into the city.

I will stop here…So stay tuned for updates. I have an entirely new focus and vision for this home and how I plan to utilize this space. Can’t wait to share.

As always…Be Inspired. Be Empowered. Be Fabulous!
