Introducing my new fashion series called The Fashion Collective featuring my huge collection of fashion images (cutouts from periodicals and phone screen shots) I have collected over the course of three decades highlighting my favorite looks that inspires fashion, design, interior inspirations and what’s trending in fashion, architecture and home decor.
For decades my collection of pictures came from a variety of fashion, architecture, and home decor periodicals. For years, I curated inspirations from my favorite publications such as @voguemagazine, @britishvogue, @wwd, @instylemagazine, @harpersbazaarus, @voguerunway app (fmr. Style.com), @architectualdigest, @houseandhome, @dwell, @elledecore and @domino magazines. In addition, I collected hundreds of screen shots acquired from Google street style picture searches taken by people who may not be familiar and photography captured by some of my favorite street style photographers in the industry like @tommyton, @garancedore, @tamumcpherson and the eponymous Scott Schuman of @thesartorialist, whose collection of street style photography kept me in awe and inspired for more than a decade.
Since I am not a photographer, but desired another type of artistic outlet, I have always kept fashion and decor journals to collect, in a tactile and digital way, the artful and visual expression and experience of fashion in both digital and print forms. This form of tactile journaling provided inspirations that would complement my fashion and design aesthetic. It also allowed me to collect and curate inspiration that deepened my connection to beautiful homes and interior spaces, while encouraging my aspirational and of-the-moment goals to decorate my family’s living spaces. For me, artifact journaling, where I collected not only pictures, but fabric swatches, yarn samples, patterns and design sketches, has been my place for solace and reflection…a place when I needed to take an intentional moment for myself away from the “busyness” or the “must do’s” and create for myself that space where my interests are centered and joy is fulfilled…if even for a few brief moments.
This is going to be a fantastic series that I hope you enjoy viewing as I’ve enjoyed creating and now sharing with you. I hope you find this series as your source for what’s beautiful, artistic and inspirational; your source to curate your artistic aesthetic and fashionable life.
Peace…
Felicia
