This is a season to celebrate! This is a time to awaken, reawaken, breathe new life and amplify what Blackness is! I am totally excited to not just celebrate what it means to be Black, but to define, and even re-define what Black is.
Black is the mother that gave birth to us all. Black is love, joy, and comfort. It is excitement. It is serious. It is creative, talented and artistic. It is patience.
Blackness is the embodiment of what is wonderful; of what illuminates internally and radiates externally. It is the embodiment of humanity and the legacies of what is prominent, possible, astute…amazing!
Black is the diaspora!
Blackness is intellectual, spiritual, practical, exuberant…life; life to love, to protect, to listen to. To nurture, to learn from and trust.
Black understands struggle and pain, yet builds communities of strength, hope, faith; building relationships and communities of belonging…lifting one another in strength to organize, fight for justice, equality and peace.
Black is inclusive. Black is diverse. Black is beauty, Black is Chic. Black is life!
