Birthdays have a way of pausing time. Today marks the second year we celebrate my mother, Dorothy Swope, on her heavenly birthday. While her physical absence remains a deeply felt presence in our lives, her spirit continues to shape every space my sister and I walk into, every creative risk we take, and every boundary we push.
